Microsoft Edge is a web browser developed by Microsoft. It was first released in 2015 and was introduced as the successor to Internet Explorer. Edge comes pre-installed on Windows devices and is also available for macOS, Android, and iOS.

Over the years, Microsoft has made significant changes to Edge to enhance its performance, features, and security. In January 2020, Microsoft announced a major shift in Edge’s underlying technology, moving away from its proprietary engine to adopt the open-source Chromium engine, which also powers Google Chrome.
